  • 1980-90 Further development & production enhancements including Induction Heat Treatment.
  • Acquired the Salterfix retaining ring business.
  • Achieved numerous quality accreditations including – ISO 9002, Q1,VDA6, EAQF A grade.
  • 1983 Acquisition by SKF Fastening Systems (including Seeger-Orbis D, Seeger Reno Brazil & Waldes/IRR USA.
  • 1995 SKF sold Retaining Ring Group to TransTechnology Corporation USA.
  • 1996/97 Seeger factory in Eichen closed & transferred to Anderton UK.
  • 1999 Commenced relocation & consolidation of business on the Ellison site in Glusburn to create TransTechnology GB.
  • 1953 Ellison Established in Bingley West Yorkshire GB- producing spring clips.


  • 1960-70 Relocated to Harden factory & commenced producing Circlips.


  • 1970-80 Developed ‘in house’ wire production & introduced new packaging techniques ‘stacked’ Circlips.


  • Opened overseas branches in Germany (initially Saarbruecken, later Krefeld) & France (Paris).


  • 1980-90 Further development & acquisition of additional businesses in production of spring washers & metal finishing (zinc plating).


  • Opened additional branch in Spain (Barcelona) & introduced 100% tested Circlips.


  • Achieved numerous quality accreditations including – ISO 9002, Q1,VDA6, EAQF A grade..


  • Won the ‘Queens Award for Export Achievement on 3 occasions between 1972 & 1997.


  • 1997 Relocated to new facility in Glusburn & achieved QS 9000.


  • 1999 Business acquired by TransTechnology Corporation USA.
